Q) How are the nights and days calculated while creating a package?
A) To know how many FULL days you will have in your destination you usually have to reduce two days from the total number of days shown in the promotional information. Pay attention to the detailed itinerary. Day 1 is when you reach the destination and the last day is when you leave. For instance, in a typical 10 night and 11 day package, “Day One” is when you reach the destination and check-in - and Day 11 is when you check-out and head back to India. So no matter what time you check-in or check-out, it will be counted as a day. Even if you were to arrive at 11.45 pm, it will be counted as Day 1. And if you arrive at 11:45 am you may not be able to check in until 3 or 4 in the afternoon – and it’s still counted as Day 1.
Q) I would also like to visit some of the local sights but some packages inclusions say, “view” and other say “see” your places of interest. Is the meaning of both words same? If not, then what’s the difference?
A) Most people would assume that the words “see” and “view” mean the same. Not in tour package lingo. “See” usually means that the tour bus will drive by so that you can see the place of interest, and “view” means a short stop. When the itinerary specifies that there is a guided tour, then only will you get a proper tour.
That’s why you should take a careful look at the itinerary. If you want a relaxed holiday, make sure you opt for a package that lets you do so.
